Housefires. Floods. Cardiac arrest.
Our hope is that Oregonians never have to experience any of these emergency situations. But the reality is that, every day, many of them do.
In the last year, the Oregon Red Cross was there to help -- getting more than 600 families back on their feet after a disaster and training more than 122,000 Oregonians in the skills to save a life. And now we're giving you the chance to experience the work of the Oregon Red Cross...no disaster required.
On Tuesday, March 9, feel our impact firsthand with The Red Cross Experience, a free interactive exhibit following the 2010 Breakfast of Champions.
You will:
- See a golf course, where golfers jump into action to save the life of a friend with CPR.
- Pass by a housefire, where victims stand outside with only the warmth of Red Cross blankets.
- Experience a disaster shelter, where survivors receive the much needed basics, from food to emotional support.
- Tour a bloodmobile, where every day, your donations save lives.
We hope you'll stop by and join us for this firsthand look at the important work of the Oregon Red Cross. The Red Cross Experience is a one-day only event -- don't miss it!
