With recent headlines about the potential for an even larger-scale earthquake in our region and the swarms of more than 600 small earthquakes off the Oregon Coast, now is the time to not only inform Oregonians, but also educate them about how to prepare for this type of disaster.

To that end, the Oregon Trail Chapter of the American Red Cross offers the following resources:

Additionally, the Oregon Trail Chapter offers free preparedness training for groups of 10 or more. Interested Oregonians can call 503-528-5665 to schedule.

For more information about how Oregonians can be informed, educated and prepared for "the big one," contact the Oregon Trail Chapter of the American Red Cross at 503-284-1234.

The American Red Cross is a humanitarian organization, led by volunteers, that provides relief to victims of disaster and helps people prevent, prepare for and respond to emergencies. Local
Oregon Trail Chapter volunteers respond to residential fires and other disasters an average of every 40 hours. All Red Cross disaster assistance is free, made possible by voluntary donations of time and money from Oregonians. Financial gifts help provide shelter, food, clothing, counseling and other immediate assistance to those in need. Call (503) 284-1234 or visit www.redcross-pdx.org.
