With severe winter weather ahead, now’s the perfect time for Oregonians to take advantage of preparedness classes offered by the Oregon Trail Chapter of the American Red Cross.
The free Together We Prepare Oregon presentation can help individuals, families and organizations prevent, prepare for and respond to both natural and man-made disasters. The presentation shows how people can reduce the potentially traumatic impact of a disaster and offers suggestions on how to prevent injuries, save lives and reduce the loss of property. It also emphasizes what individuals and families should include in their emergency supplies kit and how to develop a family disaster plan.
All class participants receive a free copy of the “Together We Prepare Oregon” booklet and a wallet size emergency contact card.
The next Together We Prepare Oregon presentation will be held on Tuesday, Jan. 8 from 7-8 p.m. at New Hope Community Church, 11731 SE Stevens Road.
For more information or to attend a free presentation, please call 503-528-5665.
