Red Cross Volunteers Assist at Home Fire

Volunteers from the Oregon Trail Chapter of the American Red Cross responded to a residential fire in the 6000 block of SE 122nd Ave at about 12:30 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 3. The fire, which caused moderate physical and extensive smoke damage to the private residence, displaced four adults, four grown dogs, four puppies and numerous pet birds.

The fire was responded to by units of the Portland Fire Bureau and was quickly brought under control.

Red Cross volunteers assisted the displaced residents by providing assistance with food, clothing and temporary lodging. Red Cross client services caseworkers will continue to provide assistance in the days ahead, providing additional aid as needed.
