In the wee hours of the morning, six volunteers with the American Red Cross Oregon Trail Chapter raced to respond to a two-alarm fire at 12610 SW Ascension Drive in Tigard. The volunteers were called to the scene by Tualatin Valley Fire & Rescue and were on site about one hour after the fire was reported at 2:15 a.m. on September 10.
The Red Cross helped 11 displaced residents seven adults and four children by providing assistance with food, clothing and temporary lodging. Client services caseworkers will continue to provide assistance to the affected families in the days ahead, providing additional aid as needed.
