Red Cross Volunteers Respond To Broadway Heights Fire

The responders included a health provider to assess the medical needs of the affected individuals, as well as family service caseworkers.

The fire occurred at around 11 a.m. Portland Fire Bureau was on the scene and Red Cross caseworkers arrived within the hour.

Six units were affected, and two suffered extensive damage. Red Cross volunteers met the immediate emergency needs of six adults. No injuries were reported.

A Red Cross team will remain on call to provide assistance to any other affected residents.

The American Red Cross is a humanitarian organization, led by volunteers, that provides relief to victims of disaster and helps people prevent, prepare for, and respond to emergencies.
