The Red Cross was on the scene by 8:00A rendering assistance to the residents in the form of provision for lodging, food and clothing.
Two residents were displaced from fire-afflicted units by a fast moving fire, which resulted in the occupants escaping with only the clothes on their back. Red Cross client services caseworkers will continue to work with the families in the coming days to provide additional assistance as needed. The Parkway Garden Apartment Fire was one of two fires, which rousted Red Cross workers early on Thanksgiving morning.
