Life-Saving Courses Offered by American Red Cross

The Oregon Trail Chapter regularly offers courses on adult, child and infant first aid and CPR, Automated External Defibrillators (AEDs), and many other courses that prepare the community for disasters and emergencies. The Red Cross recommends that everyone obtain their CPR and first aid certification.

The American Red Cross Oregon Trail Chapter is also offering these unique and useful courses to teach a diverse community important life-saving skills:

Standard First Aid and CPR in Spanish

Learn the skills needed to prevent, recognize and provide basic care for injuries and sudden illnesses until advanced medical personnel arrives. This course is taught in Spanish and covers first aid and adult CPR in an approach that compliments adult learning styles, featuring hands-on practice and real-life scenarios. Useful take-home course materials help you retain skills and serve as excellent reference tools after training is complete. Updated with the latest science for first aid and CPR and emergency cardiovascular care. Meets OSHA First Aid guidelines.

Adult CPR in Spanish

This hands-on skills training prepares individuals to respond to breathing and cardiac emergencies in adults (ages 13 and up). Useful take-home course materials help you retain skills and serve as an excellent refresher and reference tool after training is complete. Updated with the latest science for CPR and emergency cardiovascular care.

CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuer For professional rescuers such as EMTs, nurses and healthcare professionals.This course combines a participant's manual, lectures and video with hands-on skills training to cover the following areas:
  • Responding to breathing and cardiac emergencies in adults, children and infants
  • Using an AED on an adult or child victim of cardiac arrest
  • Two-Rescuer CPR
  • Use of resuscitation and bag valve mask
  • Using personal protective equipment to stop blood borne pathogens and other diseases from spreading.
