“When I’m In Charge” Training Offered by Red Cross

The When I’m In Charge course is designed to teach 3rd, 4th, and 5th graders under the age of 11how to keep themselves safe and how to respond to emergencies if home alone or when immediate adult supervision is unavailable. Participants will:

  • Learn how to recognize and respond to emergency situations
  • Role Play safe ways of answering the phone and door
  • Discuss gun and Internet safety
  • Discuss personal safety and first aid situations, and calling 911

The cost of this class is $18 per student. Scholarships are available to students who qualify for free or reduced lunch.
