These donations will support relief efforts in more than eight states following the destruction of Hurricane Katrina.

KOIN News 6 contacted the American Red Cross Oregon Trail Chapter earlier in the morning about hosting a telethon. By the end of the day, tens of thousands of dollars were donated for hurricane relief efforts.
More than 2,000 Red Cross volunteers are already in the affected areas, setting up more than 250 shelters. Over 40,000 evacuees need immediate assistance and efforts are underway to provide the largest mobilization of relief in Red Cross history. |
