Red Cross volunteers and staff from The Home Depot will provide information about fire safety in the home and demonstrate types of smoke detectors, fire ladders and fire extinguishers. The clinics will occur at 11:00 a.m. on March 19 and 26 at the following Home Depot locations: Beaverton , South Beaverton , Hillsboro , NE Portland , Tigard, Jantzen Beach and Troutdale.

“The Home Depot is a trusted resource in communities for home improvement,” said Bert Kile, executive director for the American Red Cross Oregon Trail Chapter. “These clinics are an excellent way to convey important fire safety information.”

Leveraging Red Cross leadership in preparedness and The Home Depot's leadership in "know-how," the partnership is making fire safety and preparedness easier for families. The Red Cross responds to more than 70,000 disasters each year, and more than 90 percent of these disaster responses are residential fires.
