Starting Friday, Dec. 18, the American Red Cross will consolidate its two Columbia River District offices to one new location in The Dalles.
The Hood River location, 1100 E. Mariana Way, will close on Dec. 18 and a new office in The Dalles will open on Monday, Jan. 4. The Dalles office will be moving down the street from 701 W. 9th St. to 507 W. 9th. St. No services in any of the counties will be affected during this transition or beyond.
"We will continue scheduling Health and Safety Classes in both Hood River and The Dalles," said District Manager Hannah Settje. "Authorized instructors also will be able to rent or buy supplies and equipment, now through The Dalles office."
The Columbia River District is part of the Oregon Trail Chapter of the American Red Cross, and serves Hood River, Wasco, Sherman and Gilliam counties. The decision to consolidate and centralize the District into one office allows the Red Cross to maximize the contributions of donors and continue to operate with the high level of service that these communities need and deserve.
Hood River residents seeking to contact the Red Cross can do so by using the existing local phone number: 541-386-6000. The Dalles office can be reached at 541-296-3210.
