Will having free digital materials change how courses are taught?
Course outline and instruction methods will remain the same.
Will students still receive books in class?
Take home materials will no longer be provided in class – you can print books via the above URL and bring them to class or purchase a book either before or in class.
Is this a requirement for training?
Library sets will be available for reference in class and therefore a book purchase is not required; however, many students will want a copy for their reference and so printing or purchasing a book is recommended.
How much will books cost?
Lay Responder books cost $3 and Professional Rescuer books $13.
When will this start?
February 1, 201 in the Portland metropolitan area and March 1, 2011 for other locations around Oregon.
What about youth classes?
This change does not impact youth courses.
