American Red Cross First Aid, CPR and AED programs are designed to help you learn and remember valuable lifesaving skills and knowledge. We translate the consensus of medical science into practical, easy-to-understand information for the American public.
Training programs in First Aid, CPR and AED usage are available for any age group and can be tailored to the needs of specific groups and individuals.

First Aid. Learn how to recognize and respond to an emergency, and give care to help sustain life and minimize the consequences of injury or sudden illness until medical help arrives. Classes teach you to identify and treat shock, control bleeding, care for a muscle, bone or joint injury, care for a head, neck or back injury stroke, and respond to diabetic emergencies, heat and cold related emergencies, poisoning and allergic reactions. Students receive a First Aid certificate valid for three years.
Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR). Learn to care for conscious and unconscious victims, using cardiopulmonary resuscitation. Students receive a CPR certificate valid for two years.

Automated External Defibrillator (AED). This course teaches you how to use an AED on a victim of sudden cardiac arrest. Students receive an AED certificate valid for one year. Learn more about Sudden Cardiac Arrest (SCA) and AEDs.
CPR and First Aid for Children and Infants. This course teaches how to recognize and care for breathing and cardiac emergencies in children 12 and younger.
